Introducing BaseFit

Before you start our regular workouts we like to teach you to move safely and effectively, which we will do in our BaseFit classes. Some people will have great strength and weightlifting skills, but never done any gymnastics. Others may be marathon runners who have never touched a barbell. Maybe you’re totally new to fitness of any sort. Whatever your background you start at BaseFit to gain exposure to everything that CHALKBOX has to offer.

What’s BaseFit?

  • The emphasis of BaseFit classes is on skill development and exposure to our basic movements. It is designed to prepare you to enter our ongoing group classes. We are going to be hammering technique—both to ensure your safety—and success at the next level.

  • Introduction to the gym environment and use of equipment.

  • We will introduce you to technique and mechanics first, then intensity.

  • We will be showing you movements that begin with the relatively non-technical and progressively more technical.

  • It’s important that you are here for each of the 8 sessions as these movements build on one another.

  • There will be a workout at the end of each day which will get progressively more challenging as the series progresses.

  • The difficulty of these workouts is ultimately in your hands...the degree that you push yourself will determine how much suffering goes on. We want to prepare you for the level of intensity and output that is inherent in our group classes. Shifts in body composition are one of the most motivating ways to measure success. We highly encourage you to take “Before” pictures at the beginning of BaseFit.

Book your “No-Sweat Intro” FiRST:

Your fitness and health goals are unique to you. A one-size-fits-all approach might help you meet some of your goals, but likely won’t be sufficient for reaching all of them. During your No-Sweat Intro, your coach will take the time to get to know you, your story, and your objectives.  Together, you will explore what has worked well for you previously and what hasn’t worked at all.  Armed with this information, your coach will be able to make recommendations on the best methods for helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.
