Tools to breakthrough your fitness ceiling

Reached a ceiling and need help to break through?

We are introducing several tools to level up your fitness!

2020 FITTER BODIES

The updated program is designed to focus on all areas of your fitness. We also have made a conscious decision and added Accessory Work to workouts, if there’s time left in class the coach will go through otherwise you can do it after class. The Accessory Work will cover any common goals of the community. More will follow in a separate post.

To support you further on your fitness journey we are introducing three more tools:

1) 2020 Goals Board

Most of you have given your goals for 2020 which we will add to the new “2020 Goals Board”. This board has been developed to hold you and your coaches accountable for your goals.

As soon as you have reached your goals we will give you a star on the goals board and add a new goal you like to achieve.

Your coaches will keep a close eye on this goals board and they are added to skill sessions in our FITTER BODIES program. To assist we will build a library for members with videos on all different skills. For example, we will have videos on how to train for a Pull-UP step by step. Yes, we will be doing pull-ups in our workouts and we will practise them, but if you like to master a skill it will help to put in the extra practise. At CHALKBOX we aim to offer functional fitness constantly varied which means we will make you all-round athletes but also means we won’t be doing pull-ups every day.

2) Goal Setting Meeting with Your Coach(es)

Some of the CHALKBOX members have been training with us for some time now. Every member will hit a point where you might feel your progress is slowing down or not existing. This is very common and there is no need for panic at this stage. There are many different reasons why your progress can slow down:

  • You don’t have a plan

  • Your goals aren’t realistic

  • You work on things you like and neglect the things you don’t like

  • You always train with the same people (who always tell you what you want to hear)

  • You’re always injured or in pain

  • You don’t have a coach… (try some 1-2-1 sessions to get a plan and focus)

  • You don’t prioritize nutrition

  • You’re not having fun but focus too much on what you can’t do

  • You make terrible excuses

If you have hit this point in your Fitness Journey we like to invite you to have a chat with one of the CHALKBOX coaches. In groups of 3 there will be 30min slots available from Monday Jan 13th for 2 weeks.

How does it work?

  1. Prepare

Come prepared with your goals. We have created a form to give you guidance how to formulate your goals. It will be most effective if you fill it out prior to your meeting.

Your coach will discuss your goals, give you tips, guidance and will check in with you every now and then.

Remember, your fitness journey is your responsibility. We love to help you and support you as much as we can but only you can put in the work to get to the next level.

These meetings will be before or after your session and we recommend you book your session with a coach who’s classes you do on a regular basis.

2. Book Your Meeting

Make sure we receive your goals form in time so we can prepare the meeting for you.

3) CHALKBOX Commitment Club

As most of you know by now we will start the CHALKBOX Commitment Club in 2020. This is an extra tool to keep you focused on your fitness journey. At CHALKBOX we do not encourage people to train 7 days a week as your body needs to recover. We also do not recommend to go hard and heavy 5 times a week but we like you to mix up the intensity in your workouts.

With the CHALKBOX Commitment Club we encourage every member to train at least 15 times a month. This is on average 3-4 times a week which is a perfect ratio to get and see results. Getting in the box doesn't just mean come to workouts, it means get into the CHALKBOX way of thinking. At CHALKBOX we like to offer a lifestyle not just a workout.
