New class on Friday evening!
We like to introduce our new class: ChalkFit
From Friday April 21st we will be having a new session in our schedule: ChalkFit.
ChalkFit is a session built around MetCon (Metabolic conditioning). Metabolic Conditioning (MetCon) can be defined as "exercises that increase the storage and delivery of energy for physical activity. All training requires use of the muscles to produce energy; what distinguishes metabolic conditioning is how energy is created, how it is used and how rapidly it is expended".
Our ChalkFit classes will follow a similar built up as our regular CrossFit sessions. You will be doing a warm up, mobility and conditioning. We will be using functional movements only; like pulling, pushing, jumping, skipping, rowing, running, cycling and so on.
What is the difference between CrossFit and ChalkFit?
At our ChalkFit session we will be using less complicated movements like snatches and cleans. The sessions will be simpler. We won't be using a lot of the Barbells but more of the Kettle Bells and Dumbells.
The goal of this class is to develop your conditioning, build a strong aerobic base (crucial to CrossFit and other sports) as well as building your anaerobic capacity, which means improving your endurance and stamina.
Who can benefit from the ChalkFit sessions?
New members: if you like to slowely ease into the high intensity workouts of CrossFit and the complex barbell movements the ChalkFit sessions will be a great way to learn the functional movements and get incredible fit along the way.
Experienced CrossFitters: all CrossFitters will benefit from a strong Aerobic system. To support the high intensity WODs you need to have a strong foundation. With a strong Aerobic system we have the ability to go harder for longer and increase our buffer for the many reps CrossFit throws at us. You will be able to go harder for longer without getting fatigue.
If you are looking to work on your stamina, gymnastics, functional movements and endurance this session will add great benefit to your training program. We will be going less heavy but the session will still be hard.
This class will be a trial for the next 2 months and we would like to have your feedback.
You can now all book in for our ChalkFit sessions on Fridays 7pm.
