‘What will the new year bring us? - 365 opportunities....’ Ben Bergeron

The beginning of the new year, 2019 is the perfect time to access where we as individual stand. How much we have accomplished over the past year, coupled with ways we can improve in the coming year. One great way of doing the above, is by joining in with the CrossfFt open.

For those who don't already know, the CrossFit open is a five week long competition which is open to every Crossfitter from every box around the world. It's all inclusive and age is no barrier, scaled WODs and offered, everyone can enjoy the fun. The whole point of the open and of CrosFfit as a whole is to play an integral part in a great community challenge.

There are many reason to participate in the open:

To see how far you’ve come - you come into the box every week and work your butt off. The open is a great way to showcase the results of all of your efforts. More importantly it will help push you to the next level. We have seen such amazing progress when people are put to the test of the open. There's isn't a better feeling than pbing a lift amongst all your friends shouting their encouragement and support.

Even if you can’t do the exact prescribed weight of any or most of the open workouts, you will most likely surprise yourself with what you are able to pull off. The open is about calling on the best in yourself no matter of your current level. You are most likely stronger than your mind lets you believe.

To count yourself within the community - hundred of thousands of people participate in this event each year. The open website allows you to see where you rank according to age and location. The open is tailored to all athletes, not just the professionals. The WOD’s are scaled accordingly, which means you can do it!

The open is the time of the year where you have the opportunity to showcase your skills and development, whilst been cheered on by the supportive, fun community. Don't get hung up thinking the open is for elite athletes only, or that you’re not ready for the challenge. The open is designed for you and everyone that loves crossfit. Don't miss out on a great time.

This five week, five workout competition begins in February and runs through to March 25th

Week 5 - March 26th

This year The Open will be on twice! The Open this month will be part of our regular trainings program and it is test to see how far everyone has come. The next Open in October will be our big flagship event. teams, T shirts and cakes will be all part of it. Read more here
