Meet our interns Victoria and Sasha

Meet the interns

It’s time to meet our interns. We had loads of interest this year so thank you to everyone who applied but unfortunately we can’t take you all on. We would like to congratulate Victoria and Sasha for making it this far. You will be seeing them a lot in the coming months observing classes and slowly moving on to teaching. We asked them to write up a little something about themselves which you can read about below. Welcome interns!

‘I took up CrossFit in 2015 and was hooked pretty much straight away. What impressed me the most in those early days was how CrossFit aims to get us moving in the right way in the gym and encourages us to transfer that into the activities we all perform in our daily lives. It was this emphasis on improving our performance based on how we move and not just how many reps we do that made it clear to me that CrossFit can have a lasting, life-changing effect on people.

As I moved through my own fitness journey I found that I particularly enjoyed strength movements and the big lifts. From there I have gotten into Olympic Lifting in a big way. I'm a masters athlete these days and I'm planning to compete in the European Masters Weightlifting Championships next year. It's fun to look back at when I first started CrossFit and found the barbell a little bit intimidating and nowadays Olympic Lifting is one of my favourite things to do.

CrossFit gives us the opportunity to embark on a spectacular journey. As a coach I want to help people as they move along that journey. I want to encourage and support you in learning new skills, help you to grow in confidence as you achieve the personal goals that you set for yourself and celebrate with you when you do’.

‘I have always been extremely interested in training and being active since a young age. I have always loved being fit and healthy inside and out, this is it what encourages me to want to move more and encourage others to get moving too.

More recently I have enjoyed running outside. I completed my first half marathon last year for charity in 1 hour 59 minutes and will be completing it again in October in hope for a quicker time.

I have been weightlifting and training myself as a hobby for around three years and I now love it more then ever. As I’ve gotten older i’ve realised that I don’t just train for aesthetics, but to feel good mentally and use and improve my body, physically. I want to help others do the same.

Although my experience within CrossFit is small, my enthusiasm to learn more is bigger and better than ever. I want to use the knowledge that I currently have, and am forever learning to help others improve their training, challenge and better themselves and WANT to move more.’
