Shoulders Hurting? It Might Be Your Mechanics
Shoulder pain is something we are seeing more often, and as a gym we take that seriously.
But most of the time, it is not “CrossFit” itself causing the problem. It is that when you start training properly and asking your shoulders to work, it often exposes things that were already there.
Poor posture, rounded shoulders, weak lats, tight pecs, poor shoulder blade movement, or not enough control overhead can all start to show up when you train.
The shoulder is not just one joint doing one job. It relies on your upper back, lats, core, shoulder blades and posture all working together.
When one part is not doing its job properly, the shoulder often takes the hit.
That is why we always encourage members to look beyond just the pain and start looking at how they move.
If your shoulders are feeling weak, painful, tight or unstable, don’t ignore it and don’t just keep pushing through.
We offer small skill group sessions and 1-2-1 sessions to help you work on posture, shoulder mechanics, pulling strength, overhead control and better movement patterns.
Once you understand what your body is doing and start fixing the basics, everything starts to work better — your lifts, your gymnastics, your posture and your confidence in training.
Strong shoulders start with better movement.
